Upping our Impact with UpStart Thrift Store
The UpStart Thrift Store was launched in the summer of 2022 as a project of Startup Junkie Foundation to help generate resources to better serve our community. The store generates revenue by selling donated clothes and home goods at more affordable prices than most resell shops.
UpStart Thrift is located at 235 Main Street in Farmington, just outside the Fayetteville city limits westbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
All of the proceeds from the store, after rent and utilities, are used to fund Kiva loans and small business grants to entrepreneurs and small business owners in Washington County.

UpStart Thrift Store awards needs-based grants starting at $500 to small business owners in Washington County. The UpStart Thrift Store team works alongside Startup Junkie Foundation leadership to select the awardees based on the merits of their application. Donations to Startup Junkie Foundation help fulfill the organization’s mission to serve innovators, entrepreneurs and small business owners in our community. Through tailored support and intentional programming, those businesses help improve our community by spurring economic development, creating jobs, and elevating the overall quality of life for those who live, play and work here. Contributions can be general in nature or assigned to specific programs, like UpStart Thrift. As a 501c3 nonprofit, all contributions to Startup Junkie Foundation are tax deductible.
