Director, Head of Asia, Startup Junkie Consulting

Louis is primarily based in Seoul and acts as the liaison between the US office and the APAC region. His role includes sourcing international startups and organizing key investments to support cross-border partnership programs with a focus on later-stage companies and retail-tech solutions. As South Korea’s tech scene continues to grow, this unique positioning allows startups to widen commercialization opportunities and connections between Startup Junkie and enterprises such as Wal-Mart, Tyson, and J.B. Hunt. Louis grew up living in both Seoul and Fayetteville, AR and has developed and worked for 4 venture-backed startups on 3 different continents. Louis also brings enterprise-level perspective having led software projects in environments such as Unilever and Nielsen. Prior to joining Startup Junkie, Louis was a Top 4 cohort finalist for both ZeroTo510 and K-Startup Grand Challenge accelerator programs representing locally-based healthcare startup Lineus Medical, which is currently seeking FDA approval. Afterward, Louis worked as an Entrepreneur in Residence with the National IT Promotion Agency in Seoul for the K-Startup Grand Challenge program providing strategy and investment management support for the year’s batch of founders launching in Asia. Louis holds a Bachelor’s of Science in International Business from the Sam M. Walton College of Business and he also attended Yonsei University in Seoul.
