Public, Commercial, Permitted Kitchen Available for Ozark Region Food Entrepreneurs

The Kitchen of the Arkansas Ozarks is now open for use by all Arkansas and Missouri food businesses, entrepreneurs, and manufacturers for food production in its fully permitted commercial kitchen located in the city of Marshall, Arkansas. This kitchen was formerly part of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture’s “Share Grounds Kitchen” program, but it is now exclusively owned and managed by the local Searcy County Fairgrounds board.

The Kitchen of the Arkansas Ozarks offers a spacious facility that is conveniently located just off Highway 65 at the Searcy County Fairgrounds in Marshall, just 40 miles south of Harrison. It is a multi-purpose, dual certified manufacturing and food establishment facility, inspected and permitted by the Arkansas Department of Health to meet the culinary needs of the Ozarks region of Arkansas and Missouri and its communities. Foodpreneurs and food industry business owners can sign up to rent and use the kitchen space and its equipment for as little as $10.00 an hour with no required long-term membership or subscriptions required.

This Kitchen of the Arkansas Ozarks facility offers commercial production capabilities for preparing foods for catering events, food product manufacturing, and food preparation in general for public resale by retail grocery stores, coffee shops or bakeries, restaurants or food trucks located in the Ozarks region. It has a large commercial kitchen space and equipment for use including a large tilt skillet for canning and liquid foods production purposes, a Hobart industrial mixer, a 40 gallon steam kettle, two large-scale convection ovens, double commercial refrigerators, a six burner industrial gas stove with commercial grill capabilities, multiple stainless steel preparation tables and sinks, as well as a separate facility offering at the fairgrounds that provides for dry freezer storage of foods. 

All net proceeds from the rental fees will be utilized for the maintenance and upkeep of the facility located at the Searcy County Fairgrounds.
