Startup Junkie Foundation and the University of Arkansas are searching for commercialization fellows for the Science Venture Studio project launched in June.
Students will get hands-on experience with an early-stage science and technology company that is preparing an SBIR/STTR proposal with the Science Venture Studio. Over the semester, students will be able to bring tangible value and expertise on commercialization, market research, and customer discovery to the team in their pursuit of commercialization.
Students will be expected to commit 20 hours per week to the fellowship and will receive a $5,000 stipend for the semester.
Applications for the position will open on August 17th and close August 21st. Interviews will be conducted the week of August 24th. The fellowship will begin on August 31st.
“The SVS team works with early-stage science and technology companies that are in a stage of highest risk,” Katie Thompson, Director of SVS said. “The companies need a team of experts that will support them through the commercialization process as they develop their technology and encompasses a group of experts that are highly skilled in addressing the needs of the company so that they feel the most support in their pursuit to commercialize their technology. Students that are selected for the commercialization fellows will get hands-on experience with this type of company.”
