Startup Junkies Podcast had the chance to chat with Laura and Zack Kraus of Flamingo Springs Trailer Park.

Flamingo Springs Trailer Park is a vintage travel trailer resort. They have six vintage travel trailers decorated in different eras ranging from the ’50s through the ’70s. The trailers are remodeled airstreams and eclectically themed. The trailers remain permanently parked around a swimming pool with access to a game room. Guests can rent them out by night, here, in Northwest Arkansas.

The idea came from what they said was a vintage travel trailer revolution happening right now. Laura and Zack having a love of old things and placing character into them, started with a dream of a bed and breakfast. Their idea simply evolved into something more unique, embracing their novel nostalgic and eclectic feel. They pulled inspiration from a feel for route 66 and 50’s style palm springs with the tacky gnomes and lawn flamingos. From this Flamingo Springs Trailer park was born.

The trailers vary in their decoration and feel. For example, they have their Haight Ashbury, their smaller trailer that sleeps two. It gives a nod to 70’s San Francisco with lots of florals and hippie designs.

Another trailer, called the Pour Some Shasta on Me, nods to nineties hair bands with lacquered countertops with glittered guitar picks and electric guitars. The look is completed with lots of leopard and leather.

Each trailer is detailed to fit the theme, and they do not spare on the little details. As Caleb Talley, who has stayed at the Flamingo Resort says, “And as somebody that has had the pleasure of staying at Flamingo Springs in the past. I have to just comment on the incredible to detail with each one of those trailers. Specifically talking about the Christmas one, having a typewriter in the back where guests can type their letter to Santa, and it goes, you know, and lives forever in the trailer for others to read.”

While staying in the themed trailers is an experience in itself, Zack and Laura pride themselves in caring about their guests and ensuring they have a restful and fantastic stay. Zack and Laura have been known to provide fresh cookies or to run errands for their guests, establishing their reputation for outstanding customer service.

While COVID has caused obstacles, Flamingo Springs Trailer Park remains open with safety measures to make sure guests can still have a fabulous time while staying healthy.
