In this first of its kind event, Startup Junkie and Bank OZK will celebrate the woman entrepreneurs’ journey in a day-long workshop that will cover “Getting Your Business Off the Ground,” a women’s networking session, and “Small Business Loan Options for the Woman Entrepreneur.”
Startup Junkie’s Martha Londagin will start the day of events at 9 a.m. with a review of the lean canvas design for starting any small business, be it a “side hustle” started while still employed, a small sole-proprietorship d/b/a model, or an official LLC startup entity. She’ll cover business structures, first steps to take as a road map for starting a business or expanding a side hustle, funding ideas, low or no-cost marketing ideas, personal testing of the consumer or client market base, along with educational examples explaining small business bank products from a Bank OZK representative. This session will take place over Zoom from 9 to 10 a.m.
From 12 to 1 p.m., the Startup Junkie and Bank OZK team will return for an hour-long virtual networking event for women entrepreneurs. During this session, attendees will have the opportunity to make 60-second introductions of their startups or small businesses.
At 4 p.m., Martha Londagin will review options for funding a small business currently operating and/or a future startup. Topics covered will include crowdsourcing platforms, investors, personal funds, micro-loans, traditional bank loans, and other extensions of credit like credit cards and lines of credit and their various sources available in Northwest Arkansas and online. A Bank OZK representative will also provide financial expertise and insights on what banks look for in a viable small business loan application. Attendees will learn the pros and cons of each option.
During each session, two attendees will be chosen at random to win a $50 gift card to a local, woman-owned business. Winners must be present to receive the gift card.
This day-long event is sponsored by Bank OZK.
Registrants can attend all three events or pick and choose which events they would like to participate in. A Zoom link for each session will be emailed to those who sign up. Registration is required to receive links to attend.
