Startup Junkie and The Venture Center to Host Techstars Startup Weekend for NWA Entrepreneurs

FAYETTEVILLE, AR – August 1, 2022 – Startup Junkie and The Venture Center have teamed up to host Techstars Startup Weekend in Northwest Arkansas.

The event will be held from 6:30 pm, August 26 to 8:00 pm, August 28 at the Pryor Center in Fayetteville. Participants will be guided by expert mentors and facilitators, meet fellow innovators, pitch their ideas, and form teams in the Outdoor Recreation, Web3, or General fields. Participants will learn, practice, and apply cutting-edge methodology and presentation skills, and on the final day will present their pitch to a panel of judges for a chance to win $5,000 and ultimately make their idea into a reality.

Anyone passionate about innovation is welcome to attend. Registration is $35 for the Outdoor Recreation, Web3, and General fields, and $20 for students or those with experience in development or design. More information can be found at the Startup Weekend Northwest Arkansas website

“I’ve been a part of dozens of Startup Weekends and seen some significant successes. Billion dollar companies like Zapier and EquipmentShare won Startup Weekends before they gained enough traction to raise money from top investors worldwide,” says Jordan Carlisle, Director of Digital Health & Innovation at the Whole Health Institute. Carlisle will be the facilitator for the event.

The startup scene in Northwest Arkansas is booming, and Startup Weekend Northwest Arkansas will give real experience to anyone curious about what it’s like to go through that process – even if they don’t have a business idea yet. The goal of the weekend is for participants of every background, skill, and experience level to come together, learn, network, build a great product, increase potential, and see actual results.

“Startup Weekend is for entrepreneurs, engineers, and creatives at any stage of their life who want to experience the most crucial thing about startups – building fast and learning even faster,” says Carlisle.
