“At the end of the day, for the individual driver, and the owner operator model, which is seventy-eight percent of the entire freight movement in the United States, it provides such a value and eliminates such a burden of time on the accounting side and on the cost analysis side that [bigger player’s] opinions aren’t very valid.” – Josh Perry, (5:56)
“The service aspect of trucking is what I’m really attached to on both the customer side and on the driver side because if you focus on the people that are making your business run, whatever the case may be, you get so much additional benefit over the dollars. So that’s the feeling I pursue.” – Josh Perry, (7:50)
“Most people don’t understand that all the goods in this room are all transported by a truck. Same goes in any country you’re talking about anywhere in the world. So the real vision and goal is to level the playing field and be the largest precursor to any economy anywhere in the world and have it in over fifty countries with over fifty thousand users in each country.” – Josh Perry, (26:38)
“It takes sacrifice. It takes putting in the time. I’ve sacrificed a lot of hours of time I could have been spending with my family in order to help families all across the world get more time with their dad or their mom or whoever that’s out there driving a truck.” – Josh Perry, (30:26)
Josh Perry and Lane Hero: The Trip Cost Calculator for Drivers

Increasing Trucking Efficiency
The Lane Hero app utilizes the most advanced artificial intelligence that’s designed to help truckers easily calculate the estimated cost of a trip. With voice activated inputs, drivers start by providing their vehicle identification number, their login information, and their fixed daily budget and monthly expenses. Once this is complete and the driver has spoken a point A and a point B into the app, they will receive a cost analysis almost instantly.
The report includes the distance of the trip, the approximate time the trip will take, the cost of fuel per gallon, tolls the driver can expect to pay along the route, the cost of lodging for each night, and other various fixed costs related to the trip. This technology allows drivers to price the routes to their customers in a more efficient and profitable manner.

A Driver-Centric Approach
There is no limit to the amount of vehicles a driver can input into Lane Hero, and there is no limitation on the type of vehicles allowed to be analyzed. Lane Hero works on a subscription basis with a cost of twenty dollars per month. However, drivers have expressed that they make back their money or have savings attached to Lane Hero within the first one or two loads after implementing the app.
Additionally, Lane Hero keeps track of the IFTA tax record, meaning that is one more task that truckers don’t have to take care of during their breaks in between traveling. Lane Hero’s ideal customers are independent operators, small fleet owners, and dispatchers as well as dispatch services. In the near future, Lane Hero will continue to talk with the Arkansas Trucking Association about a channel partnership.
