Programa EMPOWER en busca de mentores para la primera cohorte

EMPOWER will be launching the week of January 24, and the Science Venture Studio is seeking mentors to pair with five amazing women participating in this cohort. EMPOWER is a 16-week accelerator program for all women and non-binary people in STEM in Arkansas that have an innovation that they would like to explore ways to bring to market through non-dilutive federal funding.

Over the course of the program, these women will learn about key topics on the impact of their innovation, commercialization strategies, and technical milestones that need to be achieved to bring their innovation to market. The program is seeking mentors to commit 30 minutes of their time each week to connect with their mentee to support her, make connections for her that are needed, and share their experiences with her. In return, mentors will be able to witness cutting-edge technology at the very beginning stages of fruition, make lasting connections, and support a woman who is impacting our ecosystem.

“I am always blown away by the outpouring support that is continually given to budding entrepreneurs,” said Katie Thompson, director of the Science Venture Studio and leading this program. “I am very grateful for all that have volunteered their time thus far and look forward to working with everyone over the course of this program.”

If you are interested in being a mentor, please fill out the mentor interest form by January 14. After you have submitted the form, Katie Thompson will reach out to you and schedule a time to discuss things further. At that time, she will answer any questions that you may have about the program.
